Some of television’s most celebrated comedic talents gathered Wednesday night for TheWrap’s Women of Comedy: An Emmy Season Showcase, an exclusive event honoring the trailblazing women shaping the future of comedy. Presented in partnership with Comedy Gives Back, the showcase brought together leading female voices for a night of celebration and insight.
Held at The Crescent Theater in Beverly Hills, the evening was hosted by acclaimed comedian, actress, writer, and producer Whitney Cummings. The program featured candid, wide-ranging panel discussions that explored each performer’s creative journey and examined how the comedy landscape has evolved, particularly for women.
The event spotlighted some of the most talked-about names of this year’s Emmy season, including Bridget Everett, star and executive producer of HBO’s Somebody Somewhere, and Abby Elliott, a standout in FX’s critically acclaimed The Bear.
TheWrap’s Leading With Laughter: Crafting Unforgettable Characters panel featured Elliott, Brenda Song (Running Point), Christa Miller (Shrinking), and Wendi McLendon-Covey (St. Denis Medical).
The evening’s Keeping It Fresh: Careers That Keep Evolving panel brought together Everett, Lisa Ann Walter (Abbott Elementary), Sasheer Zamata (Agatha All Along), Julianne Nicholson (Hacks), and Iliza Shlesinger (Iliza Shlesinger: A Different Animal), each offering unique insights into longevity and reinvention in the comedy world.
